From the moment you step inside, you'll be greeted by the inviting aroma of freshly baked goods and rich coffee. The café specializes in traditional Colombian delights, particularly their renowned pan de bono, a warm, cheesy bread that is both soft and slightly chewy — perfect for pairing with a robust cup of coffee. Customers rave about their selections, with simple yet delicious offerings, including a classic plain pan de bono and one filled with sweet guava. Each bite is a comforting homage to Colombia's rich baking heritage.

But that's not all! PANDEBONO Y CAFE EL DORADO also offers buñuelos — a crispy, cheese-filled treat that is essential for anyone looking to indulge in Colombian snacks. As one satisfied customer, Morgan Murphy, noted, "They were fresh, delicious, and quick," underscoring the cafe's commitment to quality and efficiency.

Be sure to try the chicken empanada, which Global Explorer described as "excellent," promising a satisfying burst of flavor.

Whether you’re visiting the nearby Gold Museum or just strolling through the charming Santa Fé district, PANDEBONO Y CAFE EL DORADO invites you to immerse yourself in the taste of Colombian culture. Mmm. Stopped here to recharge a bit before going into the fold museum. We each had a coffee (espresso or americano) and split some plain pan de bono and also one with guava inside. They were fresh, delicious, and quick. The other items in the case looked good, too! We were just there for a tiny bite, otherwise I would’ve gotten some empanadas, too! Oh, and there is a sink to wash your hands out in the dining area, which was great after a day of wandering the city!

Always fresh. Great buñuelos and pan de bonos. Voy always has caldo de costilla and it's always tasty. Prices are good, just a little above average for the centre, but worth it.

Amazing pan de bono and cappuccino. A must try if you come to the Gold Museum as it's right next door.

I used to come to this place to eat empanadas while during my bachelor. The empanadas are delicious. Ten years later I passed by and are still delicious and I took an 'agua de panela' with pandebono and cheese in a rainy day, and was spectacular. The same plan as my grandpa, in the same place. If you go to the gold museum stop by and taste the empanadas and juices, and if is good don't doubt it, take the agua de panela. Very traditional and delicious.

Decent place to get an empanada if in a hurry or need something to eat after touring the great gold museum. The meat empanada was not so good, but the chicken empanada was excellent. The oat milk is recommended! Try their corn bread and a dessert. Overall, nice place.

This was one of our first stops in Bogota for a refresher after our long flight. We had coffee, a cappuccino, pandebono (con queso), and two empanadas: one cheese and one with beef. The servers were pleasant and attentive. The coffee was incredible, honestly one of the best I had while in Colombia (no, I didn't go to the coffee region). I recommend this spot for people watching, too. It's a small little place but cozy and everyone is polite. Most people were tourists (Colombian and South American tourists)--we were the only North Americans. We spent about 30 minutes here.
